Welcome!  Hymns have been and continue to be a real source of inspiration to me.  My desire in this blog is to share special hymns with my readers hoping that the words will minister to them, especially in times of great personal need.  If one of these hymns ministers to you, please take time to leave a comment so that I know that my blog is helping others as much as it helps me. Sometimes I will also provide a link where you can go to hear the hymn played.  So, please join me here each week and sing along as we praise God together.

PRECIOUS MEMORIES

On June 2 my wife and I celebrated our 53rd anniversary and we have so many wonderful memories.  God has been so very good to us despite our recent challenges.  The memories have been precious.
This song mentions "precious father, loving mother,...old home scenes of my childhood" what precious memories given by a loving God.  Precious memories fill my soul!  Thank you Lord.
Precious memories, unseen angelsSent from somewhere to my soulHow they linger, ever near meAnd the sacred past unfolds
Precious memories, how they lingerHow they ever flood my soulIn the stillness, of the midnightPrecious sacred scenes unfold
Precious father, loving motherFly across the lonely yearsAnd old home scenes, of my childhoodIn fond memory appears
Precious memories, how they lingerHow they ever flood my soulIn the stillness, of the midnightPrecious sacred scenes unfold
I remember, mother prayin'Father too, on bended kneeThe sun is sinkin', shadows fallin'But their prayers still follow me
Precious memories, how they lingerHow they ever flood my soulIn the stillness, of the midnightPrecious sacred scenes unfoldPrecious memories fill my soul

Congratulations to you and Dianne for 53 years. We celebrated ours in February, also 53 years.
Ups and downs, trials and blessings--God has blessed ALL of us. No matter what takes place here on earth, we know that we have a home not built by man's hand.
One day soon, we will all be in His glory forever and leave this old, tired, sad world behind.
God Bless you Brother Barry and Sister Dianne.
