Barry Kauffman, the author of this Hymn Blog, went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2025. He enjoyed serving the Lord through music and the hymns. We miss him but rejoice that he is singing and praising the Lord in heaven. We do not have anyone to keep the blog going, but we will keep it active for a time so that you can enjoy what was posted in the past.

I just discovered this blog through searching for the song “Lovest Thou Me More Than These?” I was sorry to hear that you and the greater Church of God have lost its writer. A great loss indeed for everyone. Will it need time and work by someone for it to be maintained or will it not just remain on the internet perpetually? It would be a shame for his good work to disappear.
Thanks, Barry! And thank you, Lord, for giving Barry to us all!
I had read about Brother Barry's passing the week after. Such a sweet man who loved the Lord and served Him all his days. I have written several comments here over the years, even contributing some song history.
"Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day..." (II Tim. 4:8 KJV).
Brother Barry has run the race and one day we will see him in glory.
He has passed from life to life.
He will be missed.
